The Role:
The Senior Accounting Specialist will oversee the administration and accounting of Datacor’s foreign entities, including local statutory compliance, US GAAP conformity, foreign currency translation, consolidation support, and intercompany transactions under Datacor’s transfer pricing studies. Responsibilities also span state payroll registrations, the resolution of federal, state, and local tax and payroll notices, month-end close, cash postings and bank reconciliations, payroll and accounts payable. The Senior Accounting Specialist will serve as a key resource for troubleshooting issues within contract transaction data in partnership with the Finance Operations team, complete ad hoc accounting and reporting tasks, and continuously identify opportunities to improve accounting processes. The ideal candidate will have a high attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to completing tasks timely and accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the administration and accounting of Datacor’s foreign entities
Maintain compliance with local tax and statutory reporting and filing requirements in each jurisdiction of the foreign entities.
Ensure the foreign entity-level accounting records conform to US GAAP.
Prepare foreign currency translations and support the financial consolidation of the foreign entities.
Compile and record intercompany costs and revenues in accordance with Datacor’s transfer pricing studies.
Coordinate state registrations for new states as payroll operations expand.
Own the coordination, processing and resolution of federal, state, and local tax and payroll-related notices.
Contribute to month-end close tasks, as assigned.
Support cash postings and bank reconciliations, as needed.

Lead, review and contribute to the preparation of the semi-monthly payroll and related ongoing payroll processes.
Assist in the annual audit of the company’s 401(k) plan.
Manage the accounts payable process, including review of new vendor onboarding.

Resolve accounts payable and expense reimbursement escalations.
Review variable compensation plans, including performing calculation validations of the commission software statements.
Prepare commission journal entries and reconcile commission reports to the general ledger.

Complete ad hoc accounting, reporting and project tasks.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in an accounting or financial audit role.
Experience working in a multi-entity environment with foreign operations.
Familiarity with intercompany accounting and the application of transfer pricing policies.

What You’ll Do

We are hiring a Senior Manager to take ownership of safeguarding for NIUM’s UK regulated entities, covering both emoney and payment services activities under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011, Payment Services Regulations 2017, and the FCA’s CASS15 sourcebook. This is a senior, hands-on, first-line role combining regulatory ownership, treasury decision-making, and 4-eyes oversight of operational work across the group.
You will be the day-to-day authority on UK safeguarding compliance; running reconciliation checks, chairing the UK Safeguarding Committee, owning FCA reporting, and acting as the escalation point for safeguarding incidents. We are hiring a Senior Manager to take ownership of safeguarding for NIUM’s UK regulated entities, covering both emoney and payment services activities under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011, Payment Services Regulations 2017, and the FCA’s CASS15 sourcebook. This is a senior, hands-on, first-line role combining regulatory ownership, treasury decision-making, and 4-eyes oversight of operational work across the group.
You will be the day-to-day authority on UK safeguarding compliance; running reconciliation checks, chairing the UK Safeguarding Committee, owning FCA reporting, and acting as the escalation point for safeguarding incidents. You will also make live decisions on UK cash management, diversification, and interest optimisation, working closely with Compliance and the Director of Safeguarding to keep UK processes aligned to group standards while staying compliant with UK-specific regulatory requirements.
This is a fast-paced, high-visibility role in a business operating across 40+ regulated jurisdictions, you will need to be comfortable making sound decisions quickly as rules, products, and volumes evolve.
CASS15, EMR/PSR & Regulatory Ownership (40%)
Own safeguarding compliance for NIUM’s UK entities across emoney and payment services, ensuring adherence to the EMRs 2011, PSRs 2017, and CASS15 at all times
Assess treasury and operational processes against CASS15 requirements, identifying and closing gaps
Design, document, and maintain fund-flow diagrams and calculation logic for relevant funds, ensuring the safeguarding methodology is accurate, current, and audit-ready
Own FCA reporting for safeguarding, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission
Act as the first-line escalation point for safeguarding incidents - identifying, classifying, and investigating root cause, and escalating to Compliance for materiality assessment and regulatory notification decisions
Reconciliations & Controls
Perform day-to-day checker responsibilities over safeguarding reconciliations, ensuring breaks are identified and resolved promptly
Provide 4-eyes review of operational treasury work undertaken at group level, acting as a key control point
Maintain robust audit trails and documentation to support inspection and audit readiness
Champion automation of reconciliation and safeguarding processes, working with Product and Engineering to reduce manual effort and operational risk
Governance
Run and own the UK Safeguarding Committee, setting the agenda, driving actions, and reporting on safeguarding health
Produce governance/MI for Boards and senior management on safeguarding and reconciliation performance
Work with Compliance to design, implement, and embed compliant safeguarding controls
Partner with the Global Director of Safeguarding to standardise processes globally while tailoring them to UK regulatory requirements where necessary
