The Customer Growth and Lifecycle function sits at the center of that shift, helping turn customer engagement into a deliberate, repeatable, compounding growth motion. This team connects product usage, customer behavior, experimentation, and lifecycle programs to help customers get more value from Pendo.
As Director, Customer Growth & Lifecycle, you will own the lifecycle motion from first login to fully embedded power user. You will design the experiments, programs, and data-driven interventions that make engagement intentional rather than accidental, using Pendo’s own platform and analytics to understand what moves adoption, retention, and expansion. You will also lead a team of approximately five Adoption Managers and Pendo’s Center of Excellence / Product Operations function.
This is a role based in-office in Raleigh or New York, or Remote in the East Coast.

Onboarding & activation. Define how new users discover, evaluate, and get started with Chainguard. Reduce friction across onboarding and time-to-value, and build experiences that help users quickly understand what to do next.
Developer-led & product-led growth. Partner closely with GTM, Growth, Design, and Engineering to build experiences that drive self-service adoption, engagement, and conversion. Develop a deep understanding of the user journey and continuously improve the moments that influence activation, retention, and expansion.
Subscription & account management. Shape the customer experience for managing subscriptions, plans, access, and other cross-product capabilities. Ensure these workflows are intuitive and scalable as Chainguard’s commercial offerings evolve.
Cross-product experience. Create consistency across products so customers experience Chainguard as one platform rather than a collection of individual tools. Partner with PMs across the organization to identify shared workflows and establish patterns that can scale across products.
Cross-functional leadership. Work closely with Engineering, Design, GTM, and other Product leaders to turn customer and business needs into a focused roadmap. Bring clarity to ambiguous problems, drive alignment, and make thoughtful tradeoffs between short-term growth opportunities and long-term platform investments.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Product Management team is seeking an experienced Product Manager who is technical, collaborative, and genuinely excited about building great security products. This role focuses on MDR, ITDR, and Cloud Posture, and you’ll bring deep knowledge of the security operations and MSP market to help guide the detection, prevention, and response capabilities our partners rely on every day. You’ll work with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, and Data Science to bring innovative new tools to market — as a builder, not just a roadmap manager.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Product Ownership & Strategy
Own the product roadmap for managed cybersecurity services, including MDR, SIEM and SOC services.
Translate customer, market, operational, and security insights into prioritized product initiatives.
Balance scalability, security efficacy, customer experience, and cost-to-deliver when making product decisions.
Drive alignment between business goals, operational readiness, and long-term platform strategy.
Customer & Market Insight
Engage directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand pain points across the full customer lifecycle — from pre-sales and onboarding to operations and expansion.
Monitor competitive dynamics, mid-market security trends, compliance requirements, and evolving customer expectations to maintain strong product-market fit.
Gather feedback from Sales, Customer Success, SOC, and Support teams to continuously improve service offerings and platform capabilities.
GTM & Revenue Enablement
Partner closely with Sales and Marketing on product positioning, value propositions, messaging, and sales enablement.
Contribute to outcome-based narratives and differentiated security value propositions for customer and partner conversations.
Support strategic deals by providing product expertise, security context, and operational guidance.
Service & Operational Alignment
Collaborate with SOC, Security Operations, Platform Engineering, and Delivery teams to align:
Service scope and operational boundaries
SLAs, KPIs, and escalation models
Onboarding workflows and customer operational readiness
Partner with Finance and Customer Success teams to support customer retention, expansion opportunities, and scalable service delivery models.
Ensure operational processes support both customer satisfaction and efficient service execution.
Technical Collaboration (Product-Level)
Work closely with security engineers, SOC leaders, architects, and vendors on:
Tool evaluations and strategic product integrations
Proofs of concept (POCs) and capability assessments
Enhancements to detection, response, automation, and operational workflows
Stay current on emerging cybersecurity capabilities and industry trends, including MDR/XDR, cloud security, AI-driven detection, automation, and threat intelligence.
Product Requirements & UX Collaboration
Write detailed and well-structured product requirements, including clear business context, functional expectations, and acceptance criteria.
Partner closely with UX/design teams to ensure workflows are intuitive, scalable, and aligned with customer operational needs.
Drive clarity across Engineering, Operations, and Go-To-Market teams through well-defined documentation and prioritization.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Must-Haves
10+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, ideally in security with a focus on endpoint, cloud, or identity.
Demonstrated builder mentality — you have shipped products or features end-to-end and have the scars to prove it.
Experience working in or adjacent to the MSP or channel market; you understand how partners buy, sell, and operate.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technology into clear positioning.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Research, and Marketing.
Strong quantitative and business analysis skills; able to prioritize across simultaneous competing demands.
Proven ability to work effectively with distributed, remote teams.
Strongly Preferred
Previous work in EDR, CDR, attack analysis, research, investigation, or incident response.
Cybersecurity domain knowledge — an understanding of the threat landscape, even from the product or GTM side.
AI fluency — active use of AI tools in your workflow, with a perspective on AI-driven product strategy.
Experience at a high-growth company in the $20M–$200M+ ARR range; comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change.
Hands-on Product Management experience in cybersecurity products is critical; advanced degrees in relevant fields are a plus.

Role Overview
The Product Manager leads the product to commercial success by balancing the needs of customers, the competitive landscape, and innovation from R&D. The role defines and validates the core value proposition of the product, assesses its product-market-fit, derives key product features and ensures the overall workflow delivers an optimal experience for the target customer. As an expert user of the product, the Product Manager represents it to customers, press, and sales, demonstrating its capabilities and gathering insight to inform the product roadmap.
Main Responsibilities
Define business requirements and target customers, develop product roadmaps, and set priorities for each product release in close collaboration with Development, balancing product ambitions with internal resources and capabilities.
Work closely with existing and potential customers to gather insights into workflow improvements, validate new feature designs, and ensure the product continues to meet evolving customer needs.
Define new product features by working across internal teams to design capabilities that balance functionality, ease of use, and efficiency, validated against customer feedback.
Create and maintain product requirements documents, write feature specifications, and validate their technical feasibility with the Development team.
Collaborate with the Marketing team to conduct market analysis and develop go-to-market strategy for product releases.
Conduct ongoing competitive analysis, staying current on alternative software solutions and their capabilities relative to the product.
Represent the product at online forums, public events, and customer visits, demonstrating capabilities and surfacing insights that inform the product roadmap.
Work closely with Product Specialists to ensure features are meeting customer needs and that product positioning is accurate and compelling.
Monitor the product’s financial performance, identify trends, and contribute to discussions on commercial performance and strategic direction.
Required Experience
Solid experience working in the AEC industry, and/or in directing professional end-user software products, with a strong understanding of professional workflows in the AEC industry. .
Demonstrated fluency with BIM software like Autodesk Revit, or one of its primary competitors.
Strong understanding of concepts related to building construction documentation.
Ability to travel internationally, up to 25% per quarter.
Required Skills
Translates customer insight and market data into clear product decisions: able to prioritise features and releases with commercial and user impact in mind.
Ability to represent the product credibly to customers, press, sales, and senior internal stakeholders.
Proficient in issue tracking and project management tools such as Jira or equivalent CRM and ticketing systems.
Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office productivity tools, including advanced spreadsheet skills.
Works effectively across cross-functional teams: Development, Marketing, Sales, and Product Specialists, aligning priorities and driving progress without direct authority.
Fluent in English.
