About Gusto

At Gusto, we’re on a mission to grow the small business economy. We handle the hard stuff — payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR — so owners can focus on their craft and their customers. With teams in Denver, San Francisco, and New York, we support more than 500,000 small businesses nationwide and are building a workplace that reflects the people we serve.

All full-time employees receive competitive base pay, benefits, and equity (RSUs) — because everyone who helps build Gusto should share in its success. Offer amounts are determined by role, level, and location. Learn more about our Total Rewards philosophy.

AI is a fundamental part of how work gets done at Gusto. We expect all team members to actively engage with AI tools relevant to their role and grow their fluency as the technology evolves. AI experience requirements vary by role and will be assessed during the interview process.

About the Role:

Gusto is building AI agents that help small business owners get work done, whether by working alongside them or by automating their work entirely. AI Platform is the group that builds those agents and the underlying platform they run on, which other teams across Gusto also use to build agents of their own.

We’re looking for someone to lead the whole group: an organization of around 25 engineers, together with the managers who run each area. The platform is already in production and running a growing number of agents, so much of the work now is scaling it. That means helping the teams settle into their charters, working out what the shared platform should own versus what product teams build for themselves, and keeping the group’s direction aligned with Gusto’s broader AI strategy. There is considerable room for the group to grow from here.

About the Team:

AI Platform builds Gusto’s agents and the platform they run on, along with the AI features customers use directly. One team owns the shared layer: it connects Gusto’s products to the models, runs multi-step agent workflows reliably, and provides the model gateway, the tool and MCP registry, and the evaluation and observability tooling, so that any team can build an agent without recreating the same groundwork each time. It is built on LangGraph and the Vercel AI SDK. The other teams build the customer-facing agents on top of that platform, some working directly with customers and others running in the background to automate work on their behalf.

It’s already a highly cross-functional group, with product managers, designers, and data scientists working as part of the team alongside the engineers. It partners with product and AI/ML science teams across the rest of Gusto, and reports to the Head of Engineering, Core Experiences.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • You’ll lead the group’s technical strategy for building agents that assist and automate work for small business owners, and ensuring they’re built on a platform other teams at Gusto can use.
  • Set the technical direction and roadmap for the group, including the ongoing question of what the shared platform should own and what product teams build for themselves as more of the company comes to rely on it.
  • Lead and empower the managers and tech leads in the group, supporting those already in place, hiring ahead of the group’s growth, and building strong leadership for each of the teams as they take shape.
  • Set the engineering standards for how agents behave, treating prompts, tools, and policies as production code and owning the evaluation and guardrail approach that keeps these non-deterministic systems reliable and cost-aware.
  • Work closely with the product and data science partners in the group, and with the teams across Gusto that build on the platform, so that it meets their needs and becomes the way teams build agents across the company.
  • Represent AI engineering to senior leadership, and keep the group’s work connected to Gusto’s broader AI strategy.
  • Champion AI-native ways of working, and build a team that engineers and managers want to be part of and grow in.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • 12+ years in engineering, including at least 5 leading through other managers and tech leads. You’ve grown other leaders and empowered them to run their teams.
  • A track record of shipping AI or agent products that people rely on, with clear ownership of the engineering behind them. You understand how these systems work in depth: LLM agents, orchestration, tool calling, RAG, and the evaluation and monitoring that keep them dependable.
  • The ability to set technical strategy across several teams and see it through, including aligning teams you don’t directly manage around shared outcomes.
  • Enough technical depth to engage senior engineers on a difficult architecture decision, without needing to write the code yourself.
  • Experience growing an engineering organization, ideally somewhere that was still finding its shape.
  • You treat reliability, evaluation, and guardrails as core engineering work rather than a step left to the end.
  • Comfort leading a cross-functional group, working closely with product managers, designers, and data scientists as much as with engineers.
  • You develop and empower other leaders, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, and work well across many teams.

It’s a plus if you’ve worked across both platform and product engineering, built with a framework like LangGraph or the Vercel AI SDK, or have led in fintech or another regulated environment.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $274,000 to $305,000 in Denver and most remote locations, and $321,000 to $356,000 for San Francisco, New York, and Seattle. Annual cash incentives and Stock equity is additional. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience, level, and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). Operator Principal Integrated Marketing Program Manager at Cloudflare

Principal strategist who designs and implements AI solutions across marketing operations, building AI roadmaps and enabling the team to operate independently with AI tools.

Lead Onsite Posted about 20 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

About Us

At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. Today the company runs one of the world’s largest networks that powers millions of websites and other Internet properties for customers ranging from individual bloggers to SMBs to Fortune 500 companies. Cloudflare protects and accelerates any Internet application online without adding hardware, installing software, or changing a line of code. Internet properties powered by Cloudflare all have web traffic routed through its intelligent global network, which gets smarter with every request. As a result, they see significant improvement in performance and a decrease in spam and other attacks. Cloudflare was named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top Company Cultures list and ranked among the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company.

At Cloudflare, we’re not looking for people who wait for a polished roadmap; we’re looking for the builders who see the cracks in the Internet that everyone else has simply learned to live with. We value candidates who have the instinct to spot a “normalized” problem and the AI-native curiosity to create a solution using the latest tools. Our culture is built on iteration, leveraging AI to ship faster today to make it better tomorrow, while ensuring that every improvement, no matter how small, is shared across the team to lift everyone up. If you’re the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, you’ll fit right in.

Available Locations: Austin, TX

The Role

This role exists to fundamentally change how Cloudflare’s marketing organization works by putting AI at the center of how we operate. Equal parts strategist and force-multiplier, you will identify where AI can deliver the greatest business impact, build the solutions that matter most, and systematically raise the organization’s ability to build and leverage AI independently. The ultimate measure of success is not how much you build—it’s how much the organization can build without you.

What You’ll Do

Drive and Build Marketing AI Strategy & High-Impact Integrated Programs

  • Define and own the marketing AI roadmap: assess where AI can deliver the greatest business impact, prioritize against marketing’s strategic objectives, and sequence what gets tackled and in what order.
  • Build the business case for AI investments—not in abstract terms, but by mapping current-state workflows, quantifying the opportunity, and defining clear success metrics before work begins.
  • Directly build and ship AI solutions for the highest-impact, cross-functional opportunities—the programs that fundamentally reshape how marketing operates, not incremental automations.
  • Manage intake of AI requests from across the org. Triage what rises to the level of a strategic program versus what should be solved by the team closest to the problem with the right guidance and tools.

Scale the Marketing Organization’s AI Capability

  • Build and run a champion network across marketing sub-teams: identify AI-curious practitioners, equip them with tools and patterns, and create the peer community that extends your reach.
  • Ensure every team has a clear path to surface AI needs—and a clear understanding that the goal is to help them build, not to build for them. When a request is triaged as self-serve, provide the guidance and support to make that successful.
  • Create the rituals that make AI visible and accessible: office hours, demo sessions, shared skill libraries, onboarding materials. Lower the barrier to entry so that building with AI becomes a normal part of how marketers work.
  • Establish reusable patterns and templates so that solutions built for one team can be adapted by others without starting from scratch.

Crossfunctional Planning and Integration

  • Serve as a core member of the Global Integrated Marketing Leadership team — helping set the strategic agenda, shaping priorities, and bringing structured thinking and a steady hand to the organization’s biggest decisions and most ambiguous problems.
  • Translate and represent the leadership vision into a clear, coherent strategy for the Global Integrated Marketing organization, framing the hardest problems, developing options and recommendations, and helping leadership decide where to focus and where to place its biggest bets.
  • Design and run the operating system for the Global Integrated Marketing organization ensuring decisions happen on schedule and alignment is built in, not chased.
  • Create processes to monitor business performance and outcomes with proactive escalations to ensure demand gen goals are met for the Americas and globally.

What This Requires

  • 8+ years in an integrated marketing role such as Marketing Operations, Demand Gen or a Marketing CoS function
  • Deep knowledge of how B2B marketing organizations operate—campaigns, content, demand gen, field marketing, analytics. You know where work gets stuck because you’ve lived it.
  • Comfort building with AI tools: agents, skills, prompt engineering, MCP integrations, no-code/low-code platforms.
  • A product management mindset: you think in terms of intake, backlog, iteration, adoption, and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong communication and the credibility to tell senior stakeholders “not yet” on low-priority requests and “think bigger” when teams default to automating the status quo.
  • Exceptional executive communication and writing skills — clear, concise, transparent, and insightful for teams, executives, and a diverse set of stakeholders.

What Makes Cloudflare Special?

We’re not just a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company. We’re a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company with a soul. Fundamental to our mission to help build a better Internet is protecting the free and open Internet.

Project Galileo: Since 2014, we’ve equipped more than 2,400 journalism and civil society organizations in 111 countries with powerful tools to defend themselves against attacks that would otherwise censor their work, technology already used by Cloudflare’s enterprise customers–at no cost.

Athenian Project: In 2017, we created the Athenian Project to ensure that state and local governments have the highest level of protection and reliability for free, so that their constituents have access to election information and voter registration. Since the project, we’ve provided services to more than 425 local government election websites in 33 states.

1.1.1.1: We released1.1.1.1 to help fix the foundation of the Internet by building a faster, more secure and privacy-centric public DNS resolver. This is available publicly for everyone to use - it is the first consumer-focused service Cloudflare has ever released. Here’s the deal - we don’t store client IP addresses never, ever. We will continue to abide by our privacy commitment and ensure that no user data is sold to advertisers or used to target consumers.

Sound like something you’d like to be a part of? We’d love to hear from you!

Please note that applicants who progress to the offer stage of the interview process may be asked to attend an in-person interview within one of the Cloudflare Offices or Cloudflare Hubs.  More details about this will be available at that stage of the interview process.

This position may require access to information protected under U.S. export control laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations. Please note that any offer of employment may be conditioned on your authorization to receive software or technology controlled under these U.S. export laws without sponsorship for an export license.

Cloudflare is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.  We are committed to providing equal employment opportunity for all people and place great value in both diversity and inclusiveness.  All qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to their, or any other person’s, perceived or actualrace, color, religion, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, physical or mental disability, medical condition, family care status, or any other basis protected by law. We are an AA/Veterans/Disabled Employer.

Cloudflare provides reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities.  Please tell us if you require a reasonable accommodation to apply for a job. Examples of reasonable accommodations include, but are not limited to, changing the application process, providing documents in an alternate format, using a sign language interpreter, or using specialized equipment.  If you require a reasonable accommodation to apply for a job, please contact us via e-mail at hr@cloudflare.com or via mail at 101 Townsend St. San Francisco, CA 94107.

Operator Mission Engineer - Tampa at Axon Spain

Embedded mission engineer who designs, builds, and deploys AI agents, workflows, and automations on Axon's platform to solve customer operational challenges.

Mid Onsite Posted about 20 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
What this role involves

Join Axon and be a Force for Good.

At Axon, we’re on a mission to Protect Life. We’re explorers, pursuing society’s most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.

Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.

Your Impact

This isn’t a relationship management role. It’s an ownership role. Sharp. Adaptable. Unstoppable.

You won’t wait to be asked. You’ll identify what’s broken before it becomes a problem, build solutions that didn’t exist yesterday, and earn the kind of trust that makes you indispensable to the agency — and to Axon.

In this embedded role, you are the primary owner of customer outcomes within a strategic account — accountable for the full lifecycle of Axon’s ecosystem. You combine deep technical expertise, builder instinct, operational leadership, and executive presence to help agencies transform how they operate, not just adopt software. You embed for the long haul: opening the laptop onsite, shipping on Axon’s stack, holding the room when it matters, and iterating on what you build until it sticks in production.

Success is measured by the agency’s operational outcomes and working solutions in production — not product health, not activity, not slideware.

What You’ll Do

This role is intentionally undefined in the day-to-day. Priorities shift with agency mission tempo, operational crises, and emerging opportunities. If you need a fixed playbook to succeed, this isn’t the role for you.

Building is the job. You will use Axon’s platform — AI Era, agents, workflows, integrations, and data tools — to design, build, and ship new capabilities on site. You own outcomes end to end across deployment, adoption, optimization, and ongoing success — as the accountable owner, not a coordinator of other teams’ work.

Onsite Building & Platform Delivery

  • Discover agency problems onsite and translate them into buildable, compliant solutions tied to mission outcomes
  • Design and ship working tools on Axon’s platform: AI agents, workflows, automations, integrations, and data pipelines — built and tested with real users and real data
  • Build with Axon products, not around them — configure, integrate, and extend DEMS, Fusus, AI Era, Records, and related systems in the agency environment
  • Iterate in the field until adoption sticks, then document patterns for reuse across accounts
  • Apply responsible innovation guardrails — CJIS, evidence integrity, privacy — in every build. Ship working software, not slideware
  • Troubleshoot onsite and coordinate root-cause resolution across Product, Engineering, Support, and Services when builds or integrations break

AI Build & Adoption

  • Build and deploy AI-powered workflows (agents, prompts, RAG, evaluations) that solve defined agency problems — not generic experimentation
  • Drive hands-on adoption with the people who use what you build daily
  • Measure whether changes stick — usage, workflow impact, mission outcomes — and iterate when they don’t

Operational Transformation & Leadership

  • Assess workflows onsite, identify friction and mission impact, and define what to build before you build it
  • Move from reactive support to proactive outcome design — arrive with hypotheses, validate with command staff and operators, then build to match
  • Build trusted relationships with agency leadership and operational stakeholders; lead QBRs, mission reviews, and strategic planning
  • Define success metrics and capture baselines before major deployments so impact is proven, not assumed

Field Intelligence & Growth

  • Capture customer insights, workflow patterns, and adoption barriers; share field intelligence with Product and Engineering to influence roadmap decisions
  • Turn one-off builds into reusable playbooks and operational frameworks
  • Identify expansion opportunities based on demonstrated impact; partner with Sales on long-term account strategy

Onsite Engagement & Outcomes

  • Maintain consistent onsite presence (approximately 3-4 days/week), closely connected to agency operations and evolving needs
  • Track customer success metrics: time-to-first-production-use, adoption depth by role and site, workflow improvements, and mission outcomes
  • Support Sales → Post-Sales onboarding and handoff, establishing goals and accountability from day one

What You Bring

Required

  • Experience in customer-facing technical roles, program management, operational transformation, or complex deployment environments (typically 8+ years; varied experience welcome)
  • Former law enforcement or military experience preferred, not required
  • Proven builder: you have shipped working automations, agents, workflows, integrations, or AI-enabled tools in customer environments — configuring products, writing integration logic, and delivering production-ready solutions. Using AI to assist is expected; owning the build is required
  • Comfort working across technical and operational domains: hardware, software, cloud, AI-enabled technologies, and integrated systems
  • Strong communication with both technical teams and senior stakeholders, including command staff in mission-critical environments
  • Full ownership mentality in ambiguous, fast-changing environments; ability to navigate competing priorities across Product, Engineering, Sales, Support, and Services
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS compliance and adhere to security standards

Preferred

  • Experience in public safety, law enforcement, corrections, or other mission-critical operational environments
  • Familiarity with Records, Evidence, digital workflows, AI-enabled platforms, or integrated public safety ecosystems
  • Background in forward-deployed engineering, solutions architecture, or operational transformation at scale

Additional Information

We recognize that candidates may bring strengths from different backgrounds and experiences. If your experience aligns closely with this role, we encourage you to apply.

This role is for builders who earn trust in the room — not for those looking for a predictable schedule or narrowly defined responsibilities. Every week looks different. That’s the job.

Benefits that Benefit You

  • Competitive salary and 401(k) with employer match
  • Discretionary paid time off
  • Paid parental leave for all
  • Medical, dental, and vision plans
  • Fitness programs
  • Emotional and mental wellness support
  • Learning and development programs
  • And yes, we have snacks in our offices

Don’t meet every single requirement? That’s ok. At Axon, we Aim Far. We think big with a long-term view because we want to reinvent the world to be a safer, better place. We are also committed to building diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve.

Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they check every box in the job description. If you’re excited about this role and our mission to Protect Life but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification listed here, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

Operator Mission Engineer - Port St. Lucie, Florida at Axon Spain

Embedded engineer who builds and deploys AI agents, workflows, and automations on Axon's platform to solve customer operational challenges and drive mission outcomes.

Senior Onsite Posted about 20 hours ago RemoteFirstJobs Product
